Multi-purpose Invention

The Inventions
My inventions successfully combine the principal elements of science, binary technology, the arts and educational psychology, with a specialisation in cognitive development applications. The inventions are:

1. Artspeak reasoning language,

2. LearnQuick cognitive simulator, and

3. The Enigma sculpture.

All of these distinctive products are based on the “MIRSEDA PRINCIPLE” - which was invented by me in 1997. The MIRSEDA principle is quite simple to understand in theory, and really, really exciting to use in practice. One of the tools I invented have to do with the use of four primary colours, and another tool use shapes and patterns for rapid development of the individual’s essential primary cognitive abilities. The key aspect of my invention is that it is also a multi-functional idea with many fascinating spin-off products.

The Inventor
I was born many moons ago in Africa, and grew up in an independent environment which allowed me to pursue my experimental and scientific interests. I still remember it as if it was yesterday. After my education, I trained as a graphics designer, researcher and studied cinematography at my dad’s educational institute. Some twenty-five years ago, I began an independent, experimental research and study of human cognitive development - the creative workings of the human mind. One of my objectives was to successfully challenge mainstream learning orthodoxy. Human thought processes and its operations have always fascinated me. My special focal point was on human thought processes and the mechanisms that make original thinking possible. From my humble beginnings, my inventive works has enabled me to visit many parts of the world since 1974. I joined the East London Inventors Club in May, 2007.

The Idea
It shouldn’t be a surprise today that psychologists still know little about the natural phenomena of ‘insight’ – also known as ‘Eureka’ or ‘Aha’ moments. This is when the solution and answer to something unexpectedly leaps to your mind. It might be something less significant, or it could also be something very profound. The fact is that you would have made several efforts to get the answer but you were unsuccessful! At times, answers and solutions will come to your mind when you haven’t even tried. I am not talking here about problem solving incubation process. What I have done with the MIRSEDA principle, is to establish a practical method, to be used in conjunction with its own powerful cognitive tools. With this process, an individual is able to maximise their ‘Eureka’ or ‘Aha’ moments for practical purposes. This method makes it possible for ‘Aha’ or ‘Eureka’ moments to flow regularly and with ease of comprehension.

One doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that these things do happen unexpectedly. That is the fact of the matter. When I embarked on my journey of discovery, my primary focus was to identify whatever is responsible for our human capability to create fresh, bright and great ideas. Years later, I discovered the impact of the invisible cognitive components and their original capabilities for making things to happen. They are really the building block responsible for our potential human inventiveness. This knowledge is supported by the proven scientific fact that we were all born with a potentially powerful innate cognitive processing system. This innate system can be activated to perform its resourceful operations at a higher-level through the use of an efficient cognitive language simulation method.

I successfully isolated and highlighted essential cognitive ability components, which are responsible for the clever central operations. After that, I embarked on the development of effective cognitive tools to help transform these components, so that they can all function to achieve peak performance levels. In practice, I conceived a novel process of using specific colours to improve cognitive component operations. This method also makes it possible to expand from 4 basic colours to thirty in this exclusive cognitive application. When the tools are used as designed, the automated and unprompted high-level processing acquired will allow users to ‘see’ easily and be aware of great ideas in a flash. Users of these cognitive tools will find out that a lot of people cannot ‘see’ these things without lengthy ‘secondary’ explanations and descriptions.

The Problems
After I was granted a patent, several companies wrote to me saying that they help inventors to put their products on the market. Initially, I was reluctant to pay a large amount of money upfront to any company. But I reconsidered my position because I was too busy to embark on the necessary promotions. Paying the fee they asked for was a risk I could afford to take at that time. However, I was shocked and disappointed by the deceit and unreliability of this particular company. I was very lucky that I had a patent protecting my invention. They took my money and run! Sometime later, I read on the Nesta website advising inventors not to use the so-called invention promotions company, because many of them are dishonest and unreliable. They advised that the inventor should try and promote their inventions by themselves. This is however not always possible. My advice to inventor colleagues is to be very careful with their original creative ‘babies’ and to try and make informed decision always.

The Solution
Since my experience with the dodgy promotions company, I’ve now made time in my busy schedule to promote my inventions.

I have personally organised exhibitions and workshops where the public response has been very supportive and beneficial. Training organisations, schools and individuals have expressed their interest in my LearnQuick simulator and the other products. The local newspaper has also been supportive with essential publicity. Most importantly, my next step is to obtain mould quotes from manufacturers who can produce the products to my required quality specifications. All other aspects of making my invention products commercially successful are also very important.

The Success
Since I began my journey of discovery and inventions, I have received several awards in different fields of my research. These awards are in Science & Technology, Economics and Arts. My most important award was when the UK Intellectual Property Office granted patent protection for my phenomenal and powerful cognitive tools. The valuable comments I received during the exhibition of my works have propelled me to explore setting up a commercial venture for marketing these products. Arrangements are in the pipeline to start a series of lectures and seminars, to create public awareness of the MIRSEDA programme and its associated tools, both here and abroad. I have produced prototypes for the various product offshoot of the original idea. Other spin-off copyright products are: Customised training games for blue-chip companies; promotional gift products; special greeting cards; commissioned artworks, and sculptures for individuals, companies or museums, and customised furniture for new-build properties etc.

A community organisation based in London funded and organised a pilot using my MIRSEDA programme to help a group of young people in disadvantaged communities. After a series of fun and exciting 12 week sessions, the participants were assessed and this is what they recorded: “I used to think and learn slow, it made maths easy”. Another said, “It made me think logically and I am learning my times table quicker”.

It is necessary to mention that adults have also used the tools successfully, and this is what they had to say:

“Breathtaking, novel and diverse” - S. Donnelly

“The British government should use your LearnQuick method to benefit young people in the society” – Davis, Camberwell.

“Excellent and inspiring, would like to contact you” – Jade, Lee.

“Very original indeed, you are doing a very excellent work” – Anita, Bromley

“Innovative and very productive; of great human benefit” – George, Surrey Quays
